NHS England Patient List Cleansing

You may recently have received, or may shortly receive, correspondence as part of an NHS England exercise to ensure GP patient lists are accurate and up to date.

Please do not ignore this correspondence. This is a genuine NHS process and is not a scam.

As part of the exercise, some patients are being contacted because they have not had an appointment with the practice within the last 18 months. Correspondence may also be generated where previous communications have been returned to us as "not known at this address" or "moved away".

We appreciate that if you have not needed to see a GP for some time, receiving this correspondence may seem unexpected. However, it is important that you read it carefully and take any action requested.

Please keep your details up to date

It is vital that the personal information we hold for you is kept accurate and up to date.

Please let us know if you change your:

• home address
• telephone or mobile number
• email address
• preferred method of communication

If we do not have your current details, important NHS or practice correspondence may not reach you.

Not sure if the correspondence is genuine?

We understand that people are increasingly cautious about opening letters or responding to communications because of concerns about scams.

We also recognise that some patients may find correspondence difficult to understand if English is not their first language.

If you are unsure about any correspondence you receive, please contact the practice before ignoring it. We will be happy to help you understand what it is about and what you need to do.

Please don't simply discard the correspondence.

Your response may be important, and we want to make sure that no patient is inadvertently affected because they did not receive, understand or respond to the information sent to them.

Keep your personal details up to date, open and read correspondence from the NHS and the practice, and contact us if you are unsure about anything you receive.
